Dustin P. It's been a long time since I got the chills from a record. As the previous records did also, this record speaks to me on a personal level. I'm grateful these guys crafted these beautiful songs. David has these vocals that seem to find a way into my heart. another amazingly strong and personal album I'll love forever. Thanks Chamberlain. Favorite track: Take What You Can Get.

Not Your War 04:18
There are wars I fought before you that brought me to my knees. They left scars that I can't show you but they're real enough to me. Now I'm a minefield that you step through wondering where it's safe to go. The slightest word misunderstood could cause them to explode yet still here you are - But this is not your war. I've been weighted down with armor to hide old battle scars. Each one left by a past lover fighting their way out of my heart. But when I met you I knew my fight was done. So I laid my armor down. Without thought to who has lost and who has won, can I raise my white flag now, and lay down this sword? No, this is not your war. So beat your drums. Blow your trumpets. Take up arms from sea to shore. Take hostage my heart. This is not your war. Take hostage my heart. I will fight no more.

Poor boy - last of your kind, born long before your time. Lost boy - oh, this sorrow and regret, mark my words, they'll make a man of you yet. So accept no fate, and get your story straight cause your mistakes will grow like cancers. And the boys you've raised will come stand face-to-face with you someday and say "dad, I demand answers." And I'm calling on my brothers, screaming for my sisters You can run but you won't get far - I'm calling all cars. Gone girl - you are my sky, with the weight of the world behind your eyes. Lost girl - when things fall apart I will stand at the altar of your heart. I'll defend your name, keep the wolves at bay, when your beautiful dreams are shattered. I'll take your side whether you're wrong or right, hey, for worse or for better. I'm calling on my brothers, screaming for my sisters You can run but you won't get far - I'm calling all cars And I'm praying to my mother, afraid of my father, In pursuit of your broken heart - I'm calling, calling all cars.. Come out, come out wherever you are. You can run but you won't get far - I'm calling all cars. I'm begging for my brothers, screaming for my sisters. You can run but you won't get far - I'm calling all cars And I'm praying to my mother, afraid of my father, In pursuit of your broken heart - I'm calling, calling all cars..

Red Weather 06:07
Well I woke up alone in red weather Had i lost my way or was I closer than ever? Desperate tears in my eyes feeding the mouth of the river Monochromatic skies now bleeding with color Many rivers diverged like inelegant fingers Or the veins of a leaf that had long-since withered Compelled by one thought It was now or never So i pushed off from shore And abandoned all anchors Oh oh oh all the things i believed in All the dreams toward which i was drawn And the language i used to reveal them now had gone In red weather I gave her my heart, she trapped it in amber And so we became my most noble endeavor I chose the safest way out I’m hard pressed to remember How i could forfeit my soul Why i would ever surrender Oh oh oh all the things i believed in All the dreams toward which i was drawn And the language i used to reveal them now had gone And left me untethered In red weather I woke up alone in red weather Was it sundown or dawn? Was I worse off or better? Desperate tears in my eyes feeding the mouth of the river Monochromatic skies now bleeding with color Oh oh oh all the things i believed in All the dreams toward which i was drawn And the language i used to reveal them now had gone In red weather

Take aim boys but be sure that it's true. Every man must learn to stand square in the cross-hairs of truth. Today will be a day you shall remember for all of your lives. All bets are off, your debts are forgiven tonight. Our best messenger was sent but, alas, he was hit taking word up to the front lines as he was trying to save the world one soul at a time. With our surest foot forward we ushered in our last golden age, shoulder to shoulder and onward into the fray. With a tip of your hat was it as easy as that to resign? You thought no one believed in the dream you'd fought so hard to find. It was slow-going work but it was work nonetheless though it paid us in nickels and dimes as we were trying to save the world one soul at a time. You can't believe everything that proceeds from the mouths of men. Cause history's pages are penned by the winning team's hand. In idealistic ditches we dug ourselves in for the fight. We lit fires of faith that burned with God's furious light. We were soldiers-for-hire but we knew not to fire till we'd seen the whites of their lies as we were trying to save the world one soul at a time.

You left home in high autumn with a fistful of stars. Past loves that had fallen and left a radiant scar. As you drive south you tell yourself again It's better to leave boy, than it is to be left. You give so much away, maybe more than you should. Did you decide that you'd rather be free than try to be good. You read love her last rights, burned the first page in your book. What if love at first sight demands a second look? Cause you've either hit rock bottom and you're lost. Or at long-last you're finding out who you are. Come on and look in my face now. Let down your disguise. It's like you're hell-bent to tear down, the last star in your sky. Cause you get lost, you're caught in the cross-fire, or you're falling down on your own knife. Yeah, it's like tearing a star down and hanging it in some other sky. So raise a glass for your sinner, say a prayer for your saint. Which one will be with you at the end of your days? Come let your hurt show, I'm no stranger to pain. In a kingdom of sun I'd be the one still praying for rain. When you're bound and determined to get lost Far be it from me to pull you down off that cross Come on and look in my face now. Let down your disguise. It's like you're hell-bent to tear down the best star in your sky. Cause you get lost, you're caught in the cross-fire, or you're falling down on your own knife. Yeah, it's like tearing a star down and hanging it in some other sky. You left home in high autumn with a fistful of stars. Past loves that had fallen and left a radiant scar.

Ah, it must've been hell babe to cross me off your list. I know you got scared and lonesome standing in the shadow I cast. I had your heart in chains till the landscape started to fade. If you were restless you should've said that from the start. Come hell or high water, you did all you could. Turn the page now - you tried every trick in the book. Well, I made you a promise out in the marching rains. But when I gave you my tomorrows maybe I shot before I took aim. You wanted time to breathe. You got all the time you need. I release you from these chains, you're free to leave. Come hell or high water, you did all you could. Turn the page now - you tried every trick in the book. So turn around now. Let's have one last look. We tried every trick in the book.

He was born in November and ever since he can remember there's been two wars waging by two kings both forsaken. One dressed in all white, the other one black as midnight. One king hell-bound, the other one headed for the high ground. Two kings claimed you the day you were born. Child of sunlight, child of storms. You will sharpen both sides of your sword. You will cry, you will sing. So began the reign of the two kings. Should I go forth or draw back? My heart waving like a white flag. But why cry "surrender" in a war that will rage forever? Two kings claimed you the day you were born. Child of sunlight, child of storms. You will sharpen both sides of your sword. You will cry, you will sing. So began the reign of the two kings. You were born out of darkness to die in light. So don't let 'em make you choose sides. Two kings claimed you the day you were born. Child of sunlight, child of storms. May you find peace in a time of war. You will cry, you will sing. So began the reign of the two kings. He was born in November and ever since he can remember there's been two wars waging by two kings both forsaken.

You backed me into an alley, said "come and catch fire." When our lips hit the blood in my veins started a riot. My mind went rattling cages. I couldn't keep quiet or hide it. I want to meet all the boys that have loved you and ask what they did right. Challenge all of the ones that have hurt you to a duel or a fistfight. I want to win you over in old fashioned ways with sonnets and songs in perfect rhyme. You haven't even left but it already hurts like hell. It's like dying of thirst when I'm one step away from a well. Where you end and I begin, it's getting harder and harder to tell. You haven't even left but it already hurts like hell. It already hurts like hell. I want to meet you alone at sundown. I want to catch fire. Peel the flesh from your bones and expose all your circuits and wires. I want to know you like nobody can know you, from the inside out. You haven't even left but it already hurts like hell. It's like dying of thirst when I'm one step away from a well. Where you end and I begin, it's getting harder and harder to tell. You haven't even left but it already hurts like hell. It already hurts like hell. I won't hold you under lock and key. But if I beg you stay now would you stay with me?

Well my heart, oh it is storm-tossed. I should've warned you when our stars crossed of this tempest in my chest. Yea, cause I get lost. I go capsized and shipwrecked. I'll give you the best of me but, trust me, you don't want the rest. And though the odds are stacked against me, still you're willing to place your bet. Cause I can't give you all of me, oh but please take what you can get. Lady, you should know. There's a shadow that follows me. I'm afraid that one day I'll hang from my own family tree. Yea, cause I always thought that I chose my cards wisely. Oh, but maybe they were dealt to me by some other desperate heart. And I admire how hard you're trying but I'm afraid my course is set. Cause I can't give you all of me, oh but please take what you can get. So batten down the hatches cause there's no way that you'll stay dry. Can I believe you'll journey with me when the winds and waters rise? Consider this your final warning. Yea when all of this goes adrift and you get to see the worst in me, please don't abandon ship. For now we'll set out through the shallows but maybe one day we'll brave the depths and I'll surrender all of me until there's nothing left to give.

Southern wind blows softly, smell of spring and coffee, as you descend the kitchen stairs and shake the sunlight from your hair. Pull up a seat, son. I got to let you know. The time will soon come when I'll have to let you go. The day's on fire, the weather's turned. Let's sit back and watch this one burn. May you stay wild, strong and free, but don't go growing old on me. They'll be a time you'll work for pay. Today is not a working day. May you know all the things you need to know when the curtain falls, when the lights go low. I have sinned and then some. But there's been much I've overcome. I pray my sins don't haunt thee. May the apple fall far from the tree. So stand up straight, son. I know it's sad but it's true. The time will soon come when I'll have to cut you loose. The day's on fire, the weather's turned. Let's sit back and watch this one burn. May you stay wild, strong and free, but don't go growing old on me. They'll be a time you'll work for pay. Today is not a working day. May you know all the things you need to know when the curtain falls, when the lights go... I can only take you so far. Then I'll turn you over to the stars. And may the celestial signs that they design remind you of who you are. This days on fire. Morning wind blows softly, smell of spring and coffee; as you descend the kitchen stairs and shake the sunlight from your hair.
